Dear GES Families:


I hope you are enjoying this Veteran’s Day weekend. Thank you to all the veterans for their service. It was wonderful to see the learners sharing their goals and academic achievements with their families on Friday during learner led conferences.  The staff and learners were excited to welcome families into GES and discuss their progress and goals. A huge thank you to the volunteer steering committee and PTA for providing the delicious meals for staff during the day on Friday.

Wednesday, November 14 Early Release: Learners are dismissed at 1:00PM

Thursday, November 15 Lunch with a Loved One (Schedule below)


Important Information:

Please attend the next PTA meeting on Tuesday, November 13 at 3:30 at GES for a presentation by Shen Curly on insecurity and low self-esteem in adolescents.

Presentation highlights:       

  • Low self-esteem: helping to define, identify and mitigate in adolescents

  • What low-self esteem is, what it is associated with/consequences, why it is important to identify

  • Some alarming statistics regarding self-esteem and adolescents

  • How to help your adolescent that is struggling with self-esteem, such as developing accurate perceptions of themselves, defining themselves broadly, judging themselves kindly, building competence, preventing inflated self-esteem or narcissism

We are anticipating over 235 guests for Lunch With A Loved One on Thursday, November 15th. The specific time and location is below.  We will greet our guests at the front of the school and you can walk to lunch with your child.  We can’t wait to welcome our special guests.

As we head into flu season, Nurse Jenn wanted to share this guide for parents.

 

Gilford Middle School is hosting the Lego Robotics Competition on Saturday, November 17th. They are in need of help. Please click here if interested in assisting.


The cold weather is now upon us and we are asking that you please label your child's hats, mittens, sweaters, jackets, etc. in case they get separated from them.
