Dear GES Families:

We have some great events coming up this week you won’t want to miss!

First, our annual Halloween parade will be on Tuesday, October 31st at 9:00 AM. We will walk from our school to the Village Store and back. Please remember to send your child's costume to school. Hope to see you along the parade route.

Next, your child can bring in candy to donate to the Treats for Troops program on Wednesday, November 1st. We will be sending our candy to Lt. Medeiros, the son of our wonderful school secretary.  Every child will collect an apple and a toothbrush. Thank you Winnisquam Dental!

Lastly, come join us this Friday for our Family Fun Night from 6-8PM. Dress for a good old fashion barn dance. We will be serving“dinner”GES style…that’s right,a cowboy theme school lunch!  The book fair will be open and there will be wild west theme games and a photo booth. We will end the night with square dancing in the gym!  **IMPORTANT** If you have any hay bales or corn stalks to decorate the front of the school or gym, please drop them off at school this week. (See flyer attached) Important Announcements:

Learner Led conferences are coming up soon. Conferences will be held on Thursday,

November 9, 2017 from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM. There is no school on that day, but please bring your child to the conference as he or she will be leading the conference.  In preparing for a learner-led conference, children see how their strengths, challenges and behavior can affect them as learners, thus allowing them to take more responsibility for, and control over, their achievement in school.  In a learner-led conference, children learn how to reflect on their learning, evaluate their progress and communicate this information to their families.   Save the Date! We will once again host our Lunch with a Loved One on November 16th during your child's lunch time. We will serve our traditional turkey dinner. More details to come.
