  • 11/13/17 Dear GES Families: I hope you stayed warm over the weekend. Our family enjoyed watching the “Oliver!” performance. If you haven’t seen it, you can check it out next weekend on November 17th or 18th at 7:00PM at GHS.  We are excited to welcome an additional 279 guests for Lunch with a Loved One this Thursday. We are so thankful to all of our supportive families! Important Information Below:The PTA is running a Gilford School Spirit Sale until November 19! These items would make great holiday gifts!   • October 30, 2017 Dear GES Families:We have some great events coming up this week you won’t want to miss!First, our annual Halloween parade will be on Tuesday, October 31st at 9:00 AM. We will walk from our school to the Village Store and back. Please remember to send your child's costume to school. Hope to see you along the parade route.Next, your child can bring in candy to donate to the Treats for Troops program on Wednesday, November 1st. We will be sending our candy to Lt.   • October 23, 2017 Dear GES Families:I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend. Our family enjoyed getting lost in the corn maze today. I was sorry to miss the energy of the building on a showcase Friday.  I heard it was wonderful!Last week I traveled to Columbia University for a Leadership Institute on the importance of reading and writing. One point of research I wanted to share was the direct correlation between academic success and access to a wide number of books in the home. The two most powerful factors for improving reading motivation and comprehension were a child’s access to many books and personal choice of what to read.  So keep those bookshelves full!  I am enclosing ...

  • 10/16/17 Dear GES Families:I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. It was a busy weekend with many community events.  The Kids Market Day was well attended at the Gilford Youth Center on Saturday. Many of our learners reported earning money for their crafts and baked goods. Also, the Gard Family had many wonderful treats and auction items. They donated all their money to CHAD (Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock).  GES was represented at the Pumpkin Festival in Laconia with hundreds of pumpkins carved and decorated by our learners.  The throwback 80’s PTA fundraiser was a huge success.  They raised over $40,000 for our schools.
