  • January 16, 2018 Dear GES Families:We will have a very short week this week due to the national holiday(MLK Day) on Monday and our Teacher Work Day on Friday. However, we will hand out a special book on Thursday as part of our One School, One Book program. Everyone in our school will be reading the same book for the next 5 weeks. The book remains a secret until Thursday!Here’s How to Participate:Each family will receive one copy of the book on January 18th with a calendar indicating the suggested reading days.  In each family, the youngest school child will bring the book home.   • January 8, 2018 Dear GES Families:Well last week was certainly a crazy week. With the weather, school closing, and delay it was difficult to get back into a routine. I am hoping this week’s temperatures and the almost full week (early release on Wednesday) will help us get back on track.Ms. Auger will be out Monday and Tuesday this week which means all instrument lessons on Monday and Tuesday are canceled as well as the full band rehearsal on Tuesday afternoon.A few reminders for the upcoming week:Spanish Classes begin on Monday for Grades 1 and 2 from 3:15 to 3:45 and Friday for Grades 3 and 4 from 3:15 to 4:00.School Board meeting ...

  • December 18, 2017 Notification from: Gilford Elementary SchoolDear GES Families: We were able to collect a large amount of non-perishable food items for Gilford Got Lunch through our Holiday Attire Food Drive. Thank you to all the families that contributed this past week. What a wonderful demonstration of generosity.  This year one of our school goals is writing. During our early release days we have focused our professional development on the Writers Workshop.  During Writing Workshop, your child is becoming an Author and Illustrator of many different types of writing.  Our goal is to teach your child to LOVE to write.  When you see pieces of writing, please allow your child to share them with you.  They will be very excited ...

  • December 11, 2017 Dear GES Families: What a wonderful showcase on Friday.  It really serves as an opportunity to share what children have been learning in their classroom with the whole school community.  The Gilford PTA is sponsoring a World Language Program for Gilford students in grades 1 through 7.  There is no charge for the program.  Space is limited, so students will be admitted into the program on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Students will be grouped as follows: Grades 1-2, Grades 3-4, and Grades 5-6-7.  The two elementary sections will be offered at the Gilford Elementary School and the middle school-aged students will have their sessions at the Gilford Middle School.  There will be two ...
