  • May 14, 2018 Dear GES Families:It has been a wonderful week here at GES. First, we celebrated our staff with a superhero themed staff appreciation week. Thanks to all the families that helped make our staff feel special. Yesterday, we were awarded the New Hampshire Elementary School of Excellence Award and today we ended the week with a fabulous showcase!  Announcements:Our maple trees are growing!  The classrooms are having a great time watering their classroom trees. It is fun watching them grow!We have scheduled two  volunteer fingerprinting clinics for June 19th.  Photo ID is required.   • MAy 7, 2018 Dear GES Families:Well it was great to see many families enjoying the weather on Saturday at the village fields. I, for one, appreciated watching baseball and soccer in the sun and not in the freezing rain!This week is Staff Appreciation Week. This year our theme will be a Superheroes! I know you will agree, that we have a special school with staff that always go above and beyond for our learners. This week is a great time to recognize our staff.  Please remember to have your child bring in the superhero flyer to their teachers on Monday. If you don’t have one, they can always write a note.   • April 26, 2018 Dear GES Families:I hope you enjoyed the April vacation and spent some quality time with family and friends. There are a number of important reminders and upcoming events I wanted to make you aware of in May.We were selected by the New Hampshire Excellence in Education Awards Committee (“EDies”) for a site visit on April 19th. The team was comprised of 5 educators who spent three hours visiting our school. The committee took a tour, spoke with learners about their work and checked out work samples, corresponding rubrics and their assignments.  They also observed most classrooms and spoke to our team facilitators.   • May 2, 2018 Dear GES Families:Yesterday we tied ribbons to the tree out front of our school with our wishes.  We welcome community members to add their wishes to the tree throughout this week.  If you haven’t driven by, you should stop and check it out. Also, I wanted to let you know that Liz Fiore and myself are working with Officer Dan to talk about components of the ALICE safety training with all grade levels this week.  The overall goal is for learners to Stop, Look, and Listen to a trusted adult.   • April 16, 2018 Dear GES Families:What an amazing showcase on Friday. It is wonderful for the learners to share their talents with our school community. The performances were filled with connections to integrated learning! Here are some important upcoming events and announcements:Events:We will be starting school at 8:30 starting Monday, April 9th. The bell will ring at 8:20 for learners to enter school.GES Spirit Day this Friday.
