Dear GES Families:

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Here is what’s happening this week:

Monday - School is in session!  IMPORTANT: Boys and Girls Club will be closed on Monday,

Wednesday - VSC Family Fun Night from 5:30PM to 7:00PM.Get ready to show off your One School, One Book knowledge in our very own escape room!  You and your family will have 45 minutes to solve the clues and escape BOB’s closet!  We will have coloring pages, crafts and a fun water relay at the end of the night. We will serve pizza, water and yummy treats. Stop by our wishing well and drop your donations in the well to support the people and animals in Australia! You won’t want to miss this fun night.

Friday - Jump Rope for Heart

The Kids Heart Challenge Fundraiser is underway! This is a fundraiser that benefits the American Heart Association (AHA) and raises money for research and education that saves lives! Not only does this fundraiser benefit the AHA, but it also benefits our school's Physical Education program by awarding us gift certificates for more PE equipment when we participate and raise money!!!

Currently in PE, we will be talking about healthy habits that everyone can adopt to stay healthy. This includes: eating healthy, being prepared for the day, staying active, and more!

All learners have received an envelope to fundraise that way OR you may receive donations online. This fundraiser will end on February 21st, on this day all learners will report to the gym for their specials time and will participate in fitness stations so be sure to bring sneakers on Friday the 21st!

Maple Facts:

Three species of maple trees are predominantly used to produce maple syrup: the sugar maple (Acer saccharum), the black maple (A. nigrum), and the red maple (A. rubrum), because of the high sugar content (roughly two to five percent) in the sap of these species.

Did you know? We started tapping 7 maple trees four years ago. This year all three schools are tapping over 25 maple trees on our school property.

Girls on the Run is open to all 3rd and 4th grade girls. To learn more about Girls on the Run, visit https://www.girlsontherunnh.org
