Dear GES Families:

We made it to Week 8 and the end of this school year will be here soon. Our learners continue to amaze me by working hard during remote learning!  They have completed 109 minutes of Zearn, 69,225 facts solved in Reflex, and 716 total lessons completed in Dreambox.  Our learners have created videos of their Rube Goldberg machines as well. Thank you Blake for sharing your video.  Keep up the amazing hard work!

There will be no new assignments after June 4th and we will start to collect chromebooks, library books and hot spots during the week of June 8th. In most cases, families will only need to make one trip to school to both pick up personal items – such as items from classrooms and medication from the nurse's office– and to return any materials to school, such as library books, Chromebooks and chargers, hot spots and musical instruments. Pickup and returns will happen via drive-up. Families should stay in their vehicles. There will be a sign up sheet coming out soon for families to schedule when they will drop off/pick up items.  Stay tuned. Also, we have not made any decisions on summer camps. We will make sure to inform families as soon as we know more.

Congratulations to our School-wide winner of our PTA Poetry Challenge!

I Hope the Sickness Will Be Gone

I wonder if the sickness will be gone

I wonder if the doctors will fix the world

I wonder if I’ll go back to school next year

I wonder if we’re going to go skiing again

I wonder if our food will be gone

I wonder if our pets will be gone

I wonder if I can have a birthday party next year

I wonder when I can visit my grandma

BUT I love being with my family

I love building Lego sets at home

I love reading Junie B. Jones books

I love when my dad cooks dinner

I love to take walks in my neighborhood with my family

I love to watch movies before bed with my family

I hope everything will be ok one day
