Dear GES Families:

What a great first week with all of our learners both in person and remote. A huge thank you to all our families that helped make this week so successful. Our staggered start proved to be a great way to ease into the new procedures.

We realize that drop off and pick up will be a bit of a challenge next week. To help us move the traffic along please use the orange identification sign that was sent home with your child this week. The orange identification sign should be hung in your front window (passenger side visor) at pick up time so that the staff on duty can identify your child quickly and have them ready for you.

Some reminders for drop off and pick up:

  • Drop off is from 8:10 to 8:30. If you are dropping off your child after 8:30, please use the front entrance and sign your child in at the office.

  • Pick up time begins at 2:50 with bus dismissal at 3:00pm.

  • Please remember to hang your orange identification signs in your windshield.

  • For consistency, families with a kindergarten learner will always use the Kindergarten loop for drop off and pick up for older siblings even if the Kindergartner is absent.

  • Learners should EXIT / ENTER the car on the PASSENGER SIDE.

  • If you plan to walk your child to or from school please use the Wishing Tree located at the front and center of the school building. (Location on map in green),There will be a GES staff member there ready to escort your learner to and from their classroom.

  • Bus Changes:  Any learner riding a bus, who usually does not do so, or any learner wishing to ride a bus other than his/her usual bus, will NOT have permission this year. Requests for bus changes will NOT be granted because of space constraints on the buses.

Gilford Library New Program:This program is geared toward your k-1st graders that are struggling with reading confidence and need a boost.  It is a one-on-one experience and each child will receive their own reading log and weekly prizes.  There are two times available, one at 10:30am (ideal for the remote learners) and 3:30pm.  Please find the flyer attached.

Remote Meals: Remote meals for the Gilford School District will begin on Monday September 14, 2020. These meals will be available for pick up at the Gilford Middle School between 8:30am and 10:30am. Meals will be served on Monday for Monday and Tuesday meals and on Wednesday for Wednesday through Friday. Each day will consist of breakfast and lunch meal. To order these meals please call on Friday before 12:00pm and on Tuesday before 12:00pm at (603)524-7146 EX 442 or email jdupuis@sau73.org. Remote meals will be posted on the district web site under the food service tab.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. We are looking forward to a full week for everyone starting on Monday, September 14th.
